Polpharma hailed Vice-Leader of the 11th Responsible Business Ranking

Polpharma took second place on the diamond level in the 11th Responsible Business Ranking. The diamond level is the highest-level category in this year’s ranking with only nine companies – leaders in the area of corporate social responsibility in Poland – qualifying. The first place in the ranking is shared by Coca-Cola HBC and DB Schenker, while the third place has been taken by Orange Polska.

The Responsible Business Ranking is the only ranking of companies in Poland taking into account the quality of corporate social responsibility (CSR) management. It is published by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. Since 2007, it has been put together by Professor Bolesław Rok, Head of the Business Ethics and Social Innovation Center at Kozminski University, who is responsible for the substantive part of the ranking, and by Jarosław Horodecki, in charge of data analysis and final ranking development. The Responsible Business Forum is a partner of the Responsible Business Ranking and Deloitte is in charge of the verification process.

“In this year’s ranking, individual companies were evaluated in terms of three key forms of CSR, represented by three colors. “Crystal” companies focus on enhancing their relationships with stakeholders, “platinum” businesses foreground sustainable development principles, while “diamond” outfits take on the most important challenges as part of responsible innovations,” said Professor Bolesław Rok of the Kozminski University at the gala held on 11 May during the European Economic Congress in Katowice.

Polpharma has for years been counted among corporate social responsibility and sustainable development leaders in Poland, continuously improving its relevant practices and standards. The company follows a Social Responsibility Strategy based on thee pillars: serving the patients and the community, ethical conduct of business, innovation and advancing knowledge.

A total of more than 200 companies operating in Poland have taken part in the Responsible Business Ranking. It allows for a comparison of results across various CSR areas and between companies, but it is also a valuable instrument to facilitate the streamlining and development of a responsible business strategy. This year, spotlight was additionally put on key challenges taken on by the best companies as part of responsible innovations.
